A Guide To Special Education
One of the Long Island Press’ missions, from its start, has been to advocate for special needs kids and work to aid those caught up in the special ed system. In the past three years, the Press has published stories about special needs children in its award-winning ongoing series, “Our Children’s Brains.”
Early Fall Report

The Fall Run, Part II: Mecca
If you have ever been to Montauk Point, there is no denying the extraordinary beauty that the entire town holds. When you find yourself standing on the eastern tip of LI, looking ahead at the vast ocean that lies in front of you, you can feel pretty small. But some pretty big things happen in those waters, most notably during the fall months, when a natural phenomenon that has occurred for millions of years rolls right across our doorstep, and it is a wonder to behold-millions of fish brush against the point on their way south for the winter, creating a fishing wonderland that is unparalleled anywhere.
The Fall Run
If you are a fisherman (or woman, of course,) you are probably getting your gear ready for a magical time of year. As the days grow shorter and the air cools, it is only a matter of time before the fall migration of the many species of fish heading south for the winter lights up the local waters with tons of action for anglers.
