It would be difficult to find a more romantic and elegant setting than this 130-year old Victorian mansion. The special three-course dinner includes appetizers such as Pan Seared Diver Scallops, Braised Short Ribs and Foie Gras. Entrées include Duck Breast, Filet Mignon and Halibut Pot au Feu. It’s Valentine’s Week at this perennially top-rated landmark, with specials from Tuesday, Feb. 12 through Saturday, Feb. 16. On Valentine’s Day, the restaurant is serving a three-course lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at $43 per person; three-course dinner will be offered from 5:30 p.m., at $98 per person. The lunch will include Salmon Gravlax, Asparagus Cream Soup or a Salad as appetizers; Seafood Fricassée and Roasted Chicken as entrées; dessert; and a glass of wine. Dinner will include Terrine Mosaic of Shrimp, Lobster-Tomato Broth or Seared Foie Gras as starters, Seared Guinea Hen Breast, Shell Steak, Scallop Stuffed Branzini as entrées, and dessert.

The salad course offers a Burgundy Pear Salad and an Avocado Artichoke Salad. Entrées range from Chilean Sea Bass and Roasted Chicken to a Valentine’s Tasting Plate of South African Lobster Tail and Baby Beef Wellington. There’s also a Sweethearts’ Tasting Plate for your sweetie. For extra romantic effect, a dozen roses can be ordered through the Carltun for delivery to your table.

It’s hard to believe that this dainty oasis, decorated with antiques, bone china and linens. even exists on Long Island. On the special day, it offers a Saint Valentine’s Day Tea commencing at 11 a.m. with a $28 menu that includes Roast Beef and Horseradish Cream, Sundried Tomato with Chevre and Vidalia Cream with a Ham Biscuit.
