A Coram woman was arrested Thursday night after she left her two children at home for nearly three hours while getting her nails done, Suffolk police said.

Jennifer Gonzalez
Jennifer Gonzalez, 24, left her two sons, ages two and five, unattended because she was mad at her boyfriend, who went to play football earlier that evening. While the kids were asleep, Gonzalez went for a walk and decided to get her nails done while she was out, leaving her kids at home because she couldn’t deal with supervising them, she reportedly told police.
Police estimate that Gonzalez was gone from about 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., leaving the children home alone for two hours and 45 minutes. A concerned neighbor called the Suffolk police at 8:45 p.m. after hearing the “incessant screaming” of a child, police said. Sixth Precinct officers arrived at the apartment to find the two boys home alone.
The two children were released to Gonzalez’s boyfriend, who is also the father of the children, police said. Gonzalez was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

i was jennifer gonzalez coworker for 2 years. she is really not a bad person nor a bad mother. she endure domestic violence the whole time she was working at my job. physically and verbally, often coming in with a black eye and bruces. a few times we ( the staff at the office) had verbally fights with her boyfriend. he thinks women are beneath him and should obey him. we often tried to convince her to call the cops or leave him, but she was brain washed by him and was very afraid of him. i guess that the abuse took her too far and she just snap.
