Yankees Trade In Three-Team Deal For Hinske
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates, swapping outfielders at a rapid rate for the second successive season, sent starting left fielder Njyer Morgan to the Washington Nationals in a four-player deal involving outfielder Lastings Milledge and also shipped backup Eric Hinske to the Yankees on Tuesday. The Pirates, who have pushed to restock a thin farm system by making numerous trades over the last year, get Milledge and reliever Joel Hanrahan from the Nationals for the fleet Morgan and left-hander Sean Burnett, a former first-round draft pick. Earlier, they sent 2002 AL Rookie of the Year Hinske to the Yankees for minor-league right-hander Casey Erickson and outfielder Eric Fryer

Detroit police: 7 teenagers shot near high school
DETROIT (AP) — Detroit police say at least seven teenagers have been shot near a high school but their conditions aren’t known. Detroit Police spokesman Rod Liggons tells WXYZ-TV the victims were shot Tuesday afternoon at a bus stop by gunmen who emerged from a green minivan. Liggons says he isn’t aware of any fatalities
Boozer decides to stay with Jazz
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Carlos Boozer has reconsidered free agency, or at least put it off a year. Boozer let the Utah Jazz know on Tuesday that he will stay with the team for the final year of his contract rather than opting out and becoming a free agent – which he once said he intended to do. Boozer backed off his original statement and said when the season ended he wanted to consider all of his options.
