Written by Patrick Kelton on Jul 3rd, 2009

A 49-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving after he injured a bicyclist in a crash in his hometown of Manorville on Thursday evening, Suffolk police said.

David Andresen was driving his Dodge Durango eastbound on Clancy Road when he struck a 14-year-old bicyclist who was also riding eastbound at 6:36 p.m., according to 7th Squad detectives. The victim, whose name police did not release, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.

Andresen was charged with driving while intoxicated and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.

The Durango was impounded for a safety check while the investigation is continuing.  Detectives are requesting that anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
