An unidentified man was fatally struck by a Long Island Rail Road train in Rockville Centre at about 1 p.m., Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police said.
The 12:07 p.m. eastbound train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 1:20 p.m. struck the approximately 50-year-old man, who reportedly jumped from the platform.
An LIRR spokesman confirmed that the investigation is being treated as a suicide.

I was on the train to in the first car i felt a jump in the car i thought it was a dog or sumthin then we went out side the train i saw pieces of his body and blood lots of blood RIP………….
I knew this man through work. He was such a nice guy and leaves behind a wife and 2 kids. I can’t begin to imagine the demons that must have haunted him. My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.

The man who jumped in front of the train was my best friend’s father. He is such a sweet boy and I feel completely terrible about this..

I was on that train that day and I fell asleep until I felt the train stop all of a sudden and what really woke me up was when the passengers were screaming there was a guy that jumped in front of the train and he is cut in pieces. I heard that and it gave me goosebumps and on top of that we were in the car that was on top of this person that died, it was horrible,I feel so bad for whoever he is and his family. It was a sad moment. RIP
