LIRR: Man Jumped in Front of Train in Rockville Centre


trax-300x225An unidentified man was fatally struck by a Long Island Rail Road train in Rockville Centre at about 1 p.m., Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police said.

The 12:07 p.m. eastbound train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 1:20 p.m. struck the approximately 50-year-old man, who reportedly jumped from the platform.

An LIRR spokesman confirmed that the investigation is being treated as a suicide.
