A car crash claimed the life of a Kings Park man in his hometown and injured five others Sunday night, Suffolk police  said.

Michael Albertini, 52, was driving his Nissan Altima westbound on Old Northport Road when a Jeep Laredo crossed over into Albertini’s lane near Indian Head Road and the two vehicvles collided head-on at about 7:54 p.m., according to 4th Squad detectives.

Albertini was taken to St. Catherine’s of Siena Medical Center where he later died. Four passengers in his vehicle were also injured, police said.

Lauren Albertini, 19, was taken to St. Catherine’s. Her sister Dina Albertini, 16, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Jill Viola, 15, and Olivia Holmes, 14, were taken to Huntington Hospital.

The driver of the Jeep, Ira Epstein, 57, was taken to Huntington Hospital.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks as the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call the 4th Squad at 631-854-8452.
