I just want to say that this entire story seems ridiculous on the facts alone. I just started riding this summer (and afraid of speed myself). Now the story says that the rider hit the rear of the car as he changed lanes. This just seems ridiculous because a person on a bike can find his brake to avoid hitting something in plain sight. Now if you look at it from the other point, that the car cut him off chaning lanes, then it just seems a lot more likely given the simple circumstances surrounding both scenarios.

I make no claim to know what occurred that night, nor do I advocate for either side. All I’m saying is that logically, one scenario is more probable than the other.

I remember Jason spending time with me. He was an intelligent, funny, handsome and caring young man. Regardless of how he died, we all (those who knew and loved him)are at a loss. To know jason was to love him. There is not a shortage of men but there is a shortage of good men. Jason was a good man. To those who were at the funeral today, You can tell how much he was loved. I will miss our conversations. Everytime I watch House of Payne, I’ll remember Jason. I’ll never forget that smile. Rest in Peace Jay.

First and foremost my condolences goes out to Jasons’ Family… Jason was a very nice young man and for people to get on here and write ignorant crap knowing that his family and loved ones might read it makes you a very ignorant individual…my point is dont be so judgemental towards all motorcyclists..thats why its called an accident unfortunately this one took the life of a wonderful young man. Motorcycles are extremely dangerous if not ridden properly but things happen…why do people get afraid and jump out the lane when they hear a motorcycle coming is unknown..stay in your lane they see you just like you see them..Jason will be missed and may he rest in peace.

We are worried about getting killed avoiding an erradically driven motorcycle. Your last staement is correct, we ALL need to have a little more respect for human life and the hazards of driving dangerously on dangerous roads. As I said before if i were riging a bike I wouldnt be doing what I see alot of bikes doing on the roads. Constant vigilence and caution should be the bikers creed Be safe!

Its just sad to hear of another accident taking a life. In the end all the arogance posted on here from people in cars is truly sad. How could you compare a cage that you’re driving to a man. You’re worried about getting killed by a motorcycle? Maybe you’re the guy that slams on his brakes cause you think someone is too close. In the end if we all would have a little more respect for human life all would be better.

I lost my best friend of 15 years, im sadden by this situation and my life is changed from this point on. I not sure what happen due to many diffrent stories of the event. But I do know my love road a bike for many years therefore the road was not new to him! Things will come to light, as my heart continues to morn my true and only best friend and this earth. Jason slammed his bike in the BACK of that man’s car. He and his friends were riding. They were all riding together and was all out there that morning. I had the unfortunate pleasure to drive by the scene of the accident moments after it occurred. I travel the southern state pkwy everyday. It is a very dangerous parkway. I am a valley stream resident. I see it all the time.

And to be honest often times when these motorcyclist are riding on the highway they have no regard for other motorist. they surve in and out of traffic. I am NOT going to try to avoid hitting them and killing myself. If anybody is going down it will be them NOT me. I will always stay clear of them but they need to remember that I’m on four wheels not two.

It’s unfortunate what has happen and my condolences goes out to his family and love one. It is the expectation that many of them will not survive the summer. It’s sad! RIP Jason Goines!!!!!

First of all i hate how ignorant people can be, no one knows the real story but Jason Goines! People on the news love to make people look bad when their dead because they have no voice anymore and its really messed up. They don’t even know the real story and the person that he got hit by if they hit him their not going to admit it, why? because they have the upper hand they can lie and say oh yea he hit me and it could of been the other way around but Jason aint alive to stand up for his self and its really sad. He was a very close family friend and an extremely great person to be around and to read ignorant comments like this really hurts. So please next time you say something think before you speak, think about it as if it was someone close to you that you lost.

to CityBiker. You are correct there are more crazy car drivers than bike drivers as there are more cars than bikes. My point is that if I were a biker i would drive ultra careful for just the reason you state. They leave themselves no room for error by either party. What i am talking about is not bikers driving fast to avoid aggressive drivers it is bikers driving like idiots without regard for themselves or others. That said, be safe and watch out for yourself because a fender bender for you is a hit to your helmet

To Peter – that’s true we see reckless motorcyclists frequently. Almost as frequently as we see reckless drivers, changing lanes without signaling, crossing several lanes to get to an exit, all while distracted on a cel phone behind the wheels of a two ton vehicle in the name of “safety.” Normal people discourage reckless driving whether in a car or motorcycle.

As a motorcyclist, what concerns me about this particular road is aggressive actions by a minority of car drivers. Most automobile drivers are not a problem, but there are a dangerous few that drive in a manner that appears intentionally hostile to motorcyclists. I’ve been tailgated at 60mph in the middle/right lane around curves, and had cars intentionally speed up to pull alongside my blindspot on curves. I say intentionally because after speeding away to an open spot in traffic and slowing to the pace of traffic such a car would speed and slow to the same position.

This type of driving unfortunately encourages motorcyclists to speed well in excess of the flow of traffic in order to stay clear of aggressive drivers.

every day I see a motorcycle driving crazy at high speeds or between 2 cars side by side sometimes with a woman on the back of it. I watch cars try to avoid these guys and put themselves at risk. I just dont get it if they hit something they are dead period. no wonder every single day comes a story of another death on a bike I hope this guy in the car who got run into doesnt let him affect his life. These bikers take their life into their hands. If they wind up crashing and dying it is because of the little regard thay have for their own lives and the zero regard they have for others. A real woman doesnt need a man like this and I will not crash my car to get out of their way. So beware you maniacs on bikes please crash and take only yourself out.
