A Garden City man is under arrest following a car crash that claimed the lives of two brothers in East Meadow early Sunday morning, Nassau police said.

Thomas Occhiogrosso, 27, of Riverhead, was crossing Hempstead Turnpike near Conti Square Boulevard with his brother, Joseph Occhiogrosso, 28, of East Meadow, when they were both struck by a westbound BMW driven by James Farr, 33, at 4:15 a.m., according to Homicide Squad detectives.

Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene and Joseph died at Nassau University Medical Center.

Farr was charged with two counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter and one count of driving while intoxicated. He will be arraigned on Aug. 24 at First District Court in Hempstead.
