Report: Favre believes he may have cracked rib
HOUSTON (AP) — Vikings quarterback Brett Favre says he might have a cracked rib. Favre told ESPN before Monday night’s game at Houston that he hasn’t received an official diagnosis but that taking a deep breath caused him some discomfort. He also doesn’t plan to wear any kind of special padding, saying “the damage is done.” Favre’s agent Bus Cook wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press that he didn’t know if Favre has a cracked rib but “he’ll play as far as I know.” The 39-year-old Favre was expected to play the entire first half against the Texans.
Erin Andrews to Oprah: Nude video was "nightmare"
CHICAGO (AP) — ESPN reporter Erin Andrews tells talk-show host Oprah Winfrey that having secretly videotaped nude footage of her distributed on the Internet was a “nightmare.” Winfrey’s interview with Andrews will air Friday, Sept. 11, as part of a “Summer Headlines” show that previews the 24th season of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Andrews also tells Winfrey she “opened up the computer (and) could feel my heart pounding.” Andrews’ attorney has said the blurry five-minute video was shot at a hotel without her knowledge and she plans to seek criminal charges and file lawsuits against whoever shot the video and anyone who publishes it. Miss. St. C Jarvis Varnado falls ill in workout
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi State center Jarvis Varnado was in the hospital and undergoing tests after falling ill during a workout Monday. Varnado felt nauseous and was first taken to a local hospital in Starkville before being moved to the Northeast Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Tupelo for tests
