Nassau County officials say they’ll host a third gun buyback day and are hoping for a three-peat.
County Executive Thomas Suozzi told reporters on Thursday that it’s an effective way to decrease violent crime. The next gun buyback day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, at two local churches.
Individuals will receive $200 for each unlicensed handgun in working condition they turn in, no questions asked. Buyback funds are also being donated by county police organizations, along with funds seized in criminal investigations.
