S. Farmingdale Bank Robbed


A bank was robbed in South Farmingdale on Wednesday morning, Nassau police said.

A man entered the Chase Bank on South Main Street and gave the teller a note with a written demand for money at 11:18 a.m., according to Robbery Squad detectives. Once he was given an undetermined amount of cash, the robber walked out the rear door of the bank in an unknown direction. There were seven employees and one customer in the bank at the time and no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a 60-year-old white man between 5’10” and 6’ tall who was wearing a dark baseball cap, dark windbreaker and dark sunglasses.

Detectives request anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
