By Patrick Kelton on Sep 19th, 2009

Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday for vandalizing vehicles in Plainview, Hicksville, Bethpage and Levittown, Nassau police said.

John Tsahirides, 19, of Levittown, and Kyle Watts, 18, of Massapequa, drove around in Watts’ Chevy Impala through residential streets and used a metal pole to break lights and side-view mirrors on at least eight vehicles, according to 8th Squad detectives. nassaucopcar-300x1692

Eighth Precinct officers were interviewing a victim on Columbia Street in Bethpage early Wednesday morning when they heard the sound of breaking glass, which led them to the apprehension of the two suspects on Wantagh Avenue.

A 3–foot long metal rod was in plain view on the front seat of Watt’s car at the time, police said.

Tsahirides and Watts were each charged with five counts of criminal mischief.

Detectives request people believing themselves to have been victims of similar vandalism to contact the 8th Squad at 516-573-6852.
