3 Yaphank Bar Staffers Charged With Serving a Minor Alcohol

Three staffers at a Yaphank bar were arrested for selling alcohol to a minor early Saturday morning, Suffolk police said.

Prompted by community complaints of underage drinking at the Black Rock Tavern, Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers sent an underage police volunteer inside the bar to attempt to purchase alcohol at 1:12 a.m. While in the bar, the agent bought alcoholic beverages from three separate bar employees, police said.

Susan Lupia, 23, of Coram, Patrick Occhino, 28, of Ridge, and Ruthie Seldin, 19, of Shirley, were each charged with charged with unlawfully dealing with a child.

Brookhaven Town investigators issued two summonses for violations of Brookhaven Town Code, and the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal issued six summonses for Fire Code violations, police added.
