Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Hauppauge man.                                                                                                                                                                              

Robert Gendron was driving a 2000 Hyundai Elantra northbound in the parking lot of CV on 751 Hawkins Ave. in Lake Ronkonkoma, when he continued over the curb and drove into a wooded area and struck a tree, at 4:24 p.m.  Gendron, 63, of 34 Valencia St., was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing.
