Cops: East End Woman Crashed SUV, Fought Officers After DWI

A North Fork woman was arrested Saturday night for drunken driving after she crashed her sport utility vehicle and fought with police officers in her hometown of East Marion, Southold Town Police said.

A concerned driver called 911 and reported that there was an eastbound Ford SUV on Route 25 that was driving other vehicles off the road by going into their lane of traffic. The caller followed the SUV down a driveway where the truck crashed into several trees, police said. dwi-2-289x3001

Upon arrival, officers found Patricia Scannell, 52, attempting to drive away, but her truck was stuck in the woods, police said. She refused to get out of the truck and fought with one of the responding officers, police said.

Scannell then tried to strike another officer as he asked her to submit to field sobriety tests, police said.  Once a third officer told her she was under arrest, she tried to fight with him as well, police said.

The three officers restrained Scannell and placed her under arrest. She was charged with resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated.

This woman almost crashed right into us on Saturday driving on the wrong side of the road. I found out that she made the papers last month as well only that time she crashed into two cars and sent two women to the hospital. Why is this loser still on the road?
