A car crash claimed the life of an elderly Port Jefferson Station man in Coram on Monday morning, Suffolk police said.
 
John Parietti, 77, was driving a Buick southbound on Route 112 when he veered off the road and struck a tree near Glenmere Lane at approximately 6 a.m., according to 6th Squad detectives. Parietti was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash, police said.
