Outplacement

I signed my husband up on JDate.

Are we still married? Yes.
Does he know he is on JDate? No.

Why did I do this?

Well, it’s like this. If you were thinking of firing someone from a job, wouldn’t it be easier if you could tell them you had already found them another one?

We had a week of “Poison” (Read “Poison”) so I am checking out what’s out there for him. You know, finding him another “position.” Isn’t that just the ultimate in outplacement services?

“Honey, you’re not doing such a great job here, so I have been putting out some feelers and I found a few takers interested in working with you.”

Wouldn’t this be a nice thing? And it shows how much I care.

Okay, I am only joking. Today is actually mine and Eric’s 18th wedding anniversary and in case he happens to be reading this post, the beginning of which he may find shocking, I just want to say, “Happy Anniversary!!” Thank you for welcoming (and occasionally bringing….okay, I’m joking again) humor into our lives…..and love and warmth and compassion….and a few other things that got us to 18 and will see us through to growing old together.

In honor of our anniversary, I wanted to point out to all my fellow Vuvs, the importance of humor….. in all relationships.

Love and humor.

Love, needs no explanation.

As for humor…..

Humor as in we still make each other laugh and humor as in when we are feeling the “rash” (Read “Relationship Cortisone”) or when life throws us curveballs, we can still find a perspective that makes us laugh about it or in my case, gives me the desire to try and make you laugh about it.

Humor is the greatest form of therapy.

Humor is the shortest distance between two people.

Humor makes your heart lighter and trying to find a way to make a matter funny, necessarily gives you a different perspective as to that matter, even if only for a second. I have a hunch that if you are reading thevuvclub.com, you get what I am saying.

In honor of my anniversary, make someone you love laugh today.

After all, what if the hokey pokey really is what it’s all about?
