A Copiague man was arrested Friday for a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a Brentwood man who had been riding his motorcycle on the Southern State Parkway on Thursday night, New York State Police said.
John Roberts, 52, was riding his his Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound when he struck a black pick-up truck from behind and was ejected into the roadway, police said. Roberts was then run over by a Toyota Corolla driven by Eder Wilfredo Aviles, 26, according to investigators.

Both Aviles and the pick-up truck driver fled the scene. Aviles was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident and driving without a license.

this could’ve happened to anyone, yes driving under the inflence is a huge problem. However we can’t get side tracked and make it appear that anyone who gets in an accident must be drunk?!?! This story just seems like it was something out of final destination…

Jean, he wasn’t drunk, and the motorcycle hit the car from behind and he fell onto the road. most likely motocyclist was under the influence.
I hate people that drink and drive, they are so darn selfish to not care about anyone else thats driving on the road!, all these drunks care about is themselves and thier drunk buzz, they make me sick! I hope they deport this slob, and anyone who drives drunk or gets a DWI should do at least a manditory 3 years in prision and NEVER be allowed to drive again. I don’t understand why he’s been arrested ,if you really know how it happened ,he is not wilty;somethhing like that could happen to any one specially when you drive on the hiyway,if you see above the motorcycle struck the pick up what the next driver can do been so close ;so what i think ,the american justice;some times is not really straight with the people who came to this country looking for a better life I’m so sorry for this young guy
Another case of a likely illegal alien killing a US Citizen. That Corolla probably had out of state plates (usually “First in Flight” or “visitpa.com). Of course this isn’t a big story, but if the victim was an illegal alien and the driver a US citizen it’d be labeled a hate crime.
Unfortunately they rarely mention that the criminal is an illegal alien. But I bet he is.
