Cops: 2 Brothers Arrested for Robbery


Two brothers were arrested for a robbery that occurred in New Cassel on Friday, Nassau police said.

Lorne J. Daniels, 22, of Westbury and Melvin Daniels, 23, of New Cassel, and a third man approached two men at the corner of Prospect Avenue and State Street, displayed handguns and demanded money from the victims at 1 a.m., according to 3rd Squad detectives. The victims gave the suspects an undetermined amount of cash before they fled the scene, police said. handgun2-300x22511

Each suspect was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, four counts of second-degree robbery and one count of criminal possession of a weapon. They will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Monday.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
