Cops Seek Help in Finding Playground Arsonists

Suffolk police are seeking the public’s help in finding the suspects who set fire to a school playground in Terryville during the early morning hours of Sept. 5.

Police estimate the blaze, which was set at 5 a.m., caused $30,000 worth of damage. The playground was purchased by the Parent Teacher Organization through their “Penny for our dreams” program for the Terryville Elementary School on Terryville Road.

Arson squad detectives said that two white boys were caught on camera setting the fire. No further description was available.

Anyone with information about this arson is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential and the caller will be eligible for a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
