Warrant Enforcement Officers were searching for Stephen Catalano, 39, after a warrant was issued for him on Sept. 30. He was on probation after he was sentenced for a crash that claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl in February 2008.

After searching several locations for Catalano, including past residences and jobs, and conducting several interviews, officers apprehended him in Elmwood in upstate New York, police said.

Catalano was taken directly to the Suffolk County Jail in Riverhead where he will await to be arraigned on new charges.
