Man Arrested For Robbing Youths at Knifepoint

A South Farmingdale man was arrested for robbery at knifepoint in Massapequa on Thursday afternoon, Nassau police said. knife20attack-300x212

Joseph McDonough, 26, armed with a knife, approached four youths walking on Bethpage Parkway near North Linden Street and demanded money at 2:20 p.m., according to 7th Squad detectives. The youths gave the suspect a small amount of cash before he fled the scene on a bicycle.

Seventh Precinct officers apprehended McDonough a short time later.  He was found to have a Vicodin pill and two Topamax pills in his possession without a prescription, police said.

McDonough was charged with four counts of robbery, criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
