Troopers stopped a Kia Sportage on Springville Road near the train station and charged the driver, who said his name was Carlos Billamarin, for driving while intoxicated. While being processed, a fingerprint indicated that he was wanted for murder in Daly City, Calif., and that his real name is Erick Morales, police said.

The fingerprint match was from his arrest in 2000 by the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Arizona for unlawful border crossing. Troopers charged the 27-year-old with being a fugitive from justice, a felony, false impersonation and DWI. He will be arraigned Tuesday at Town of Southampton Court.

The San Mateo County District Attorney’s office is seeking Morales’ extradition to California, where his co-defendant, Reynaldo Maldanado, is currently on trial for the same 2001 fatal stabbing of their classmate, 15-year-old Quetzalcoatl “Quetzal” Alba.

Madanado had fled to Florida but was apprehended in 2007 after he allegedly confessed to the murder to his friend, according to The Daily Journal. After arriving with authorities at San Francisco International Airport, Maldanado attempted to escape by jumping 25 feet from a railing, injuring himself and required surgery for a broken jaw and injured pelvis, the newspaper reported.

Morales told investigators he had been renting a room in Hampton Bays while working at a Watermill restaurant for approximately four years, police said. He was also the subject of a Sept. 2008 America’s Most Wanted episode where numerous tips were received and followed up on by the Daly City police, all with negative results, police said.

Who is the fool that rented this guy a place to stay without doing a background check? They probably had this criminal living in their basement in violation of local rental codes. I bet some other fool hired him off the books to avoid paying payroll taxes and benefits. I declare all of them to be guilty of harboring a felon. Will anyone investigate those who enabled Morales to elude arrest?

American’s are sinking to lower standards and will do anything to make or save a buck!

Not sure why people like you aren’t commenting on allllll the other stories that DON’T involve “illegals”. Oh I know, because you’re on a little internet crusade! I get it.

You do realize that there are probably 10-1 stories about criminals committing crimes who are pure, red-blooded, good-old Americans. Not sure how people like you who are so irrationally tied up in the “illegal” debate keep overlooking that fact.

The “illegal” situation is made much worse by fools like you who would seek to lump all those here illegally as ‘savages’. It’s really quite childlike thinking.

It’s great to be an advocate for law and order, and perfectly fine to want stricter immigration policies, no illegal residents, etc. In fact, I totally, totally agree.

I’m just able to express this without sounding like a prejudiced crybaby.

Methinks people can catch more flies with honey than with hate.

So here were have another illegal invader. These people are criminals and think nothing of our laws. They are neither hard working or God fearing. They are savages.
