Bicyclist Injured in E. Farmingdale Crash


A  bicyclist was seriously injured in a car crash in East Farmingdale on Saturday night, Suffolk police said. tire-skids

Robert Accomando, 22, of West Islip, was driving his Acura northbound on Route 11 , when Maximo Santiago, 36, of East Farmingdale, entered the intersection at Great Neck Road on a bicycle without stopping and the two collided, according to 1st Squad detectives.

The bicyclist was taken to Nassau University Medical Center and is in critical condition with severe head trauma. Accomando was not injured. The Acura was impounded for a safety check. No charges are anticipated.

The investigation is continuing and anyone who may have witnessed this crash or who may help police to identify this bicyclist is asked to call the 1st Squad at 631-854-8152.
