Suffolk police arrested a Center Moriches woman for a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Shirley early Sunday morning.
Michael Lynch, 49, of Shirley, was crossing William Floyd Parkway south of Sunrise Highway when he was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jennifer Johnson, 32, at 2:25 a.m., according to 7th Squad detectives.

Lynchwas pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson was not injured but her truck was impounded and she was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
But her mother says her daughter told her she only had one beer four hours before the accident. Grace Johnson says her daughter Jennifer was doing a good deed and driving home a man who had had too much to drink.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.

Sad how this lady is so judgemental of others in the rubber room at Chapel Street. The vast majority of teachers there are innocent of the bogus charges and accusations, yet, many will quit and not teach again because the DOE in the city is so damned corrupt. Many will pay fines so they won’t get terminated. Others will go through with hearings and be terminated because the DOE will order the arbitrator who makes 1800 a day to recommend termination or lose their own jobs. Yet, this woman will probably be returning to her classroom. When she got to the rubber room, she was looking at all the time cards and googling everyone else’s names to see who else might have murdered someone like she did. Then she has the nerve to tell other teachers what they can and can’t say. She has the nerve to put on a phony sweet as cherry pie act and then the cycle of abuse starts again. She’s obviously too damned immature to be a teacher. I hope that enough teachers in the rubber room put her in her place so she grows up a bit before they put her back in the classroom. As for me, I’m through with teaching and the bs the DOE is dishing out. Maybe she was drinking to take the edge off of the crap we put up with in the city. I feel sorry for her. She’ll have to live with her miserable self for the rest of her life, a fate worse than death.
Sad how this lady could hit someone and run without checking on the person she hit. Then turn her self in later on. So inhumane to leave someone laying there. SAD!!!
