Suffolk police arrested a California woman after she allegedly sprayed pepper spray in the eyes of a cab driver and fled without paying the fare on Saturday evening.

Amina Williams, 22, of Redwood City, made arrangements with cab driver Alexandre Oseimensuo of New Jersey, to take a cab from Manhattan to Melville for the agreed amount of $150.

Upon arriving at the Melville Marriot Hotel at 5 p.m., Williams offered Oseimensuo $80, police said. When Oseimensuo insisted Williams pay the full amount of $150, she sprayed him in the eyes with pepper spray then fled the cab, according to investigators.
A hotel employee witnessed the incident and called the police. Second Precinct officers arrested Williams as she was attempting to rent a room at the hotel.
Oseimensuo was taken to North Shore University Hospital in Plainview where he was treated and released.
Williams was charged with assault and unlawful possession of noxious material. She will be arranged at First District Court in Central Islip on Jan. 8.
