The carcass of the headless goat was found on Saturday inside a plastic trash bag about 100 feet into a wooded area on Brook Street in an Islip neighborhood.

Suffolk SPCA chief Roy Gross says additional evidence was found at the scene but he declined to elaborate.

The SPCA is offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for killing the goat.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.  All calls will be kept confidential.
