Police Search For Coram Hit-and-Run Driver

matherSuffolk police are asking for help in locating and identifying the motorist who hit a 14-year-old in Coram and fled the scene of the crash on June 19.

While crossing the street at around 3:40 p.m., police say the teen was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Route 112 and Pine Road.  He suffered road rash and was transported to  John T. Mather  Hospital.

The car is described as a white 4-door vehicle with tinted windows, possibly a white Mitsubishi Galant. The driver fled northbound on Route 112.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800 220 TIPS.

All calls will be kept confidential and the caller will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
