Setauket Man Killed After Crashing Car into Utility Pole

police_lights-730374Suffolk police are investigating a car crash that claimed the life of a Setauket man near his home on Saturday morning.

Emilio Fornino was driving a Jeep Cherokee northbound on Main Street when at the intersection of Bates Road he struck an embankment and crashed into a LIPA utility pole at 3:15 a.m.  The point of impact was the driver’s side door.

Fornino, 27, suffered massive head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the 6th Squad at 631-854-8652. The investigation is continuing.
