Police Investigate Possible Hate Crime in Farmingville

Suffolk police are investigating a burglary as a possible hate crime in Farmingville on Monday morning. sirens19-300x300
 
A Muslim woman who lives on Overlook Drive went for a walk at 7 a.m. and returned 30 minutes later to find that someone had entered her home and damaged property inside, according to Hate Crimes detectives.

The victim told police that she believes she may have been targeted because of her religious background. Police are investigating to determine any evidence that hate was a motive.
