Gunfight Breaks Out in Elmont

Two men armed with handguns were involved in a gunfight with a third man who was also armed with a handgun on Crowell Street between Chowan Street and Tarboro Street at 3 p.m., according to 5th Squad detectives.

The shooters fired approximately six shots between them, police said. The two men fled on foot northbound on Crowell Street. The third man fled in a green Mitsubishi westbound on Chowan Street.

No injuries were reported.
