Kelly says job speculation not a problem

CINCINNATI (AP) — Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly is so accustomed to having his name mentioned in speculation about other jobs that he doesn’t pay much attention to what he calls the “silly season” of rumors.

Kelly said Tuesday the speculation about other schools’ interest in him doesn’t have any effect on his undefeated team or its recruiting. The fifth-ranked Bearcats (10-0) are fifth in the BCS standings heading into their game Friday against Illinois.

In each of his three seasons in Cincinnati, Kelly has been mentioned as a possible candidate for other jobs. He’s being suggested as a possible replacement for Charlie Weis if Notre Dame makes a change after its season.
