Cops: Robber, Burglar Strike 2 Hours Apart in Oceanside

Nassau police are investigating a robbery and burglary that occurred two hours apart in Oceanside on Friday morning.

In the first case, a suspect approached the side door of the Dairy Barn on Oceanside Road, pulled out a black handgun and demanded that the 19-year-old woman who was working give him cash at 6:20 a.m. The victim gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash, along with six packs of Newport cigarettes.

In the second case, a burglar gained entrance to the basement of Ocean Chemist Pharmacy on Long Beach Road at 8:15 a.m. The suspect made their way to the pharmacy’s first floor and stole around $75,000 worth of prescription medication.

Fourth Squad detectives are investigating both cases.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in both cases. Any members of the public with information are asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
