DWI Charge for Hamptons Man After Near Collision


dwi-2-289x3001A drunken driving man was arrested after nearly running a police officer off the road in North Sea early Sunday morning, Southampton Town Police said.

Simon Telles, 30, of Southampton, was driving a Chevy pick-up truck erratically on eastbound on North Sea Road while speeding when he crossed over into the westbound lane “forcing the officer to
perform an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision” at 12:15 a.m., police said in a statement.

Telles was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, failing to keep right, failing to use designated lane, driving on shoulder and refusing a breath screening test.
