Nassau police say a Mineola man has been arrested for a February weapons theft at a carpet installation business after a cigarette found at the scene was linked to him.
Third Squad detectives say Anthony Miola, 35, entered the Cutting Edge warehouse one night in late February, pried open a locked gun cabinet and removed several shotguns and hunting rifles. They say he also stole office equipment and tools.
Investigators examining the area for clues found a cigarette on the floor. They say DNA extracted from it matched the man’s DNA sample.
