Woman Found Dead in Hauppauge House Fire

Suffolk police are investigating a Hauppauge house fire where a woman was found dead on Monday afternoon. fire2-300x2251

Police and firefighters from the Hauppauge and Smithtown Fire Departments responded to the fire at a Townline Road home where a 26-year-old woman, believed to be a resident of the home, was found dead at 1:40 p.m.

Police did not say what caused the fire. The victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine her cause of death.

Homicide and Arson Squad detectives are continuing their investigation.
