A Lawrence teenager was arrested on Monday morning for stealing from his elderly landlord, Nassau police said.
Fourth Precinct officers responded to Sheridan Boulevard in Inwood to check on a suspicious vehicle and upon arrival they discovered assorted savings bonds inside a rented Toyota Corolla. The bonds, valued at approximately $25,000, were issued to several individuals who resided at a residence on Cumberland Place in Lawrence.

Further investigation revealed that Sohrab Sharma, 18, had rented the Toyota and stolen the bonds from the 73-three old woman he rents an apartment from, police said.
Fourth Squad detectives charged Sharma with the possession of an Apple I-Phone that was stolen from a vehicle on Conklin Avenue in Woodmere last year and with two incidents in May and September of this year when he facilitated a phone call between a Nassau County jail inmate and a woman in violation of an Order of Protection.
Sharma was charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, two counts of criminal facilitation and two counts of criminal contempt. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
