Teen Arrested for Drugged Driving, Child Endangerment After Crash


arrest1-300x225Suffolk police arrested a teenager on Monday night for allegedly driving while high on drugs in West Babylon with a 13-year-old boy in the vehicle.

Joseph Rosati, 18, of Lindenhurst, was driving a Chevrolet on Bergen Avenue, south of Montauk Highway, when he lost control and struck a utility pole at 5:52 p.m., police said.

Rosati admitted to smoking marijuana and taking Vicodin prior to the crash, police said. The passenger was uninjured and released to the custody of his parents.

Rosati’s mother reported the vehicle stolen after the arrest.

Rosati was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
