Four Arrested in Setauket for Graffiti, Vandalism

Three teens and a 12-year-old boy were arrested on Wednesday night, after vandalizing two East Setauket elementary schools and holiday decorations at a nearby park with graffiti, according to Suffolk police.

Detectives from the Hate Crimes Unit were called to investigate an incident of racial and sexually explicit graffiti at the Minnesauke Elementary School. Further investigation and surveillance video revealed that holiday decorations belonging to the Three Village Kiwanis Club had been vandalized at East Setauket Pond Park. Additional graffiti was also found at the Setauket Elementary School.

The three teens, 14, and 12-year-old were arrested for the incidents that occurred between December 5 and December 12. Charges included Criminal Mischief, Making Graffiti, Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.

All were released to their parents and will appear in Family Court at a later date.
