Cops: Man Offered Bribe to Drop Counterfeit Charge


After two Laurelton men were arrested for attempting to make a purchase with counterfeit money, one then tried to bribe a detective into dropping the charges in Valley Stream on Friday night, Nassau police said. money-300x3001

Patrick Anselme, 24, and Terrence T. Perry, 20, allegedly tried to buy electronics at the Target on Sunrise Highway with counterfeit $100 dollar bills when they were detained in the store by security and arrested by Fifth Precinct officers at 7:07 p.m.

Perry was also found to be in possession of 18 bags of a substance believed to be marijuana, police said. At the stationhouse Perry offered cash to a Detective Sergeant with the 5th Squad to drop the charges.

Both Anselme and Perry were charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument. Perry was additional charged with bribing a public servant and unlawful possession of marijuana.
