A newly single Hayden Panettiere was spotted hanging out with New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. Is love in the air?
Even though there are rumors of Panettiere and Sanchez dating, the actress told People magazine that the two are just friends. Questions of their status were sparked after a photo of them at an In-n-Out Burger in Laguna Beach, California on Memorial Day surfaced. A witness at the burger joint said that Panettiere and Sanchez “seemed very close and very happy” together.
When Panettiere and Sanchez were asked about the picture, neither could make a comment.
This outing at the fast food restaurant is not the first time that the pair have been seen enjoying each other’s company in recent months. The two were seen talking at a pre-Oscars party back in February, and a witness at the party said that there was mutual flirting between the actress and the football player, even though Panettiere was still dating Wladimir Klitschko at the time of the encounter.
Panettiere and Klitschko announced the end of after their two-year relationship on May 12. Both issued statements about their relationship after the break up. The actress claimed that they both have “respect for each other and remain very close friends,” while Klitschko added that he has faith that they will “keep their friendship even after the separation.”
So are Panettiere and Sanchez dating as of right now? Signs point to no, but there is sure to be more gossip if these two “friends” hanging out again.
