Man Shot Near Roosevelt School


Nassau police are looking for the gunman who shot a man in Roosevelt on Friday night. handgun2-300x225111

The 21-year-old victim was on Brookside Avenue near the Roosevelt Children’s Academy, a charter school at the corner of Centennial Avenue, when a man approached and fired four shots, striking the victim once in the left shoulder at 7:20 p.m., according to 1st Squad detectives. 

The suspect, who was described as a light-skinned man dressed all in black, then fled the scene northbound in a black car. The victim was driven to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment.
