A 33-year-old Wading River man died after a he was struck by a sport utility vehicle on Ocean Parkway on Monday night, New York State police said. 
Jeffrey McGuire was driving his GMC Colorado eastbound on the parkway in Suffolk County when it became disabled in the left lane after striking the rear-end of a Honda Odyssey driven by 79-year-old Rudolph Rosenberg of Williston Park at 6:42 p.m., police said.
While McGuire was outside the passenger side of his truck, he was struck by an eastbound Dodge Durango driven by Christohper Howes, 39, of Hampton Bayes, police said. Howes had tried to avoid the collision but struck both the GMC and McGuire, police said.

Howes’ truck also struck a vehicle driven by Eric Swanger, 29, of Patchogue, who had pulled over to help Rosenberg. Swanger was uninjured.
McGuire was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for minor injuries and the driver of the Dodge was unhurt, police said.
No arrests were made as a result of the crash. The parkway was closed for more than five hours while police were on the scene.
