VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — An Olympics that began with the death of a luger ended Sunday with an exuberant celebration of Canada – reflecting a determined comeback by the host country’s organizers and athletes. A festive crowd of 60,000 jammed into BC Place Stadium for the closing ceremony, many of them Canadians abuzz over the overtime victory by their men’s hockey team earlier in the day to give the host nation a Winter Olympics record of 14 gold medals. Clinton heading to Latin America after Chile quake

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s weeklong, five-nation tour of Latin America is certain to focus on the earthquake in Chile, even as she tries to build support for fresh penalties against Iran. Clinton will briefly visit Santiago, Chile’s capital, Tuesday morning. “We want to show America’s support for the people of Chile while mindful of the realities on the ground,” Clinton aide Philippe Reines said Sunday.

5,200 Australians bare all for photo shoot

SYDNEY (AP) — About 5,200 naked people have embraced each other on the steps of Sydney’s iconic Opera House for a photo shoot by Spencer Tunick. Tunick, who is known for his nude group photos in public spaces, posed participants for more than an hour in a variety of positions Monday. “It was difficult to get the straight participants to embrace the gay participants and vice versa,” Tunick said.
