A 74-year-old man was struck and killed by a car in Malverne on Saturday night, Nassau police said.

A 66-year-old woman, who police did not name, was driving her Chevy Impala northbound on Franklin Avenue when she struck Michael Levine, of Oceanside, who was crossing the road at the corner of Linden Street at 7:15 p.m., police said. 

Levine was pronounced dead at the scene 10 minutes later. The driver was not injured.

Fifth Squad detectives found no apparent criminality but the investigation is continuing.  The vehicle was impounded from the accident scene for brake and safety inspections.
