A terminally ill Mexican woman reunited with her son after six years apart has died.
The family of Marta Perez Martinez said the 31-year-old woman died Friday.
Martinez, suffering from colon cancer, was reunited with her 13-year-old son Irvin Vega on Tuesday.

Martinez left her rural Mexican village in 2004 to find work on Long Island. Irvin stayed behind with his grandparents.
Despite being overwhelmed by requests from Haiti earthquake victims, immigration officials allowed Irvin into the U.S. on a three-week humanitarian visa.
