A 43-year-old Amityville man was arrested Tuesday for breaking into a Massapequa Park church and stealing from the poor box three times in the past three months, Nassau police said.
Seventh Squad detectives say Mark Spruill broke into Chapel of the Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Linden Street on Jan. 31, Dec. 5 and Nov. 18.

After breaking a glass door to get inside, he stole from three poor boxes and damaged candles, police said.
Spruill was charged with possession of burglar’s tools and three counts of burglary.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead but courts were closed due to snow.
