DNA evidence collected from the scene of a burglary in July led to the arrest of an Oceanside teenager on Wednesday, Nassau police said.
Christopher Bonas, 19, of Oceanside, broke into an Elm Street home through a rear basement window but once inside he had apparently cut himself, leaving his blood on the top of the refrigerator on the night of July 22, police said.

Bonas stole an iPod, a Playstation and a vase containing approximately $75 in coins before he fled the scene, police said.
The blood was collected by the Crime Scene Section and was matched with Bonas’ DNA through the Nassau County Department of Forensic Genetics DNA Laboratory.
Fourth Squad detectives charged Bonas with burglary. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
